Disturbing News. - 2008/03/17 07:21
I was today accosted by a seriously agreived senior member of Stothert snd Pitt Rugby Club, who subjected me to a tirade of abuse surrounding an incident from saturdays "3rd XV" match.
The player involved - a genuine 3rd team selection - had apparently, during an otherwise incident free game, "run in and delivered a couple of proper cheap shots on one of our second rows", the offending player, described as flame haired and possibly of Bavarian ancestory, then stood back, surveyed the ensuing melee, threw his hands in the air and instructed the home sides touch judge "they're your players, you f**king sort them out".
The gentleman making the complaint on the alledged incident, Barry Gibb, 57, wished to remain anonymous and would not not go on record to identify the ginger German at the root of the discraceful incident, but suggested the club deal with the matter via an internal disciplinary panel, possibly comprising of a life member, the Treasurer and a senior committee member.
Chaps, remember, discipline is paramount, we are representing the club at all times on the field and such incidents are our responsibility, as is fielding players whose favourite phrase includes "ich bien ein Berliner"
