After a sensational 'tapping up' exercise by Jerry Burns - David Trick the legendary Bath & England Winger and renowned after dinner speaker, has agreed to be our guest speaker - at this season's Club Dinner & Awards at the Rec, on 23 May 2007.
This will kick off at 7.30pm and the cost is just £25 per person, names to your Team Captain ASAP please 1st Team - Lee Sumsion 2nd Team - Jase Humphries 07976 566058 3rd Team - Andy Murphy 07723 091227 Vets - Si Layton 07799 110858 All others to Jerry Burns 01225 332181 Your name will be your deposit as it is a pay on the night, but no shows will have to pay in full (NO EXCUSES)
David is well known on the speaking circuit and having heard him in action at an event last night we are very, very lucky to have landed him.
Tricky, as he is affectionately known, was born on 26 October 1960. He was educated at Bryanston School and Bath University. He started playing rugby at 8 and represented England at every level from U16 to full international. He joined Bath in 1978 and played 247 times for Bath, scoring a massive 191 tries. David was also National Junior 100m sprint Champion with a best time of 10.4 seconds (almost as fast as me!), but decided to concentrate on rugby when he realised that he preferred late nights and drinking to training and orange squash.
David was a member of the England Squad form 1980 - 1986, toured Argentina (1981) and South Africa (1984) - playing 12 times for England and scoring 11 tries.
These days David is a keen golfer and an established speaker at events like the pre Badminton Horse trials dinner where Prince Charles, Lord Westmoreland and The Duke of Beaufort were among the guests. He has also spoken at numerous sporting dinners, corporate business events, golf dinners and at events like: Bermuda World Rugby Classics, Hong Kong Tens Official Dinner, Natwest & Midland Bank's Olympic Dinners.
David has very generously waived his usual fee and we will be raising some cash on the night, for his chosen charity - The Lang Jones Bursary Fund. |
