Oldfield Four wins on the bounce, the latest a 23-20 away win over North Dorset last weekend, have propelled Oldfield away from the relegation zone and into the middle of the Southern Counties South table.
Now sixth, the Shaft Road side lock horns with ninth-placed Ivel Barbarians at home this weekend targeting a fifth successive victory.
Skipper Lee Sumsion said: "It was a good second-half performance because we were nervy in the first half and didn't really get going until we convinced ourselves that we could turn the game around and win it.
"It was our biggest test since we went out and beat Corsham, but we finished it well with Freddie Burns' final try absolutely outstanding - a great end to another good win.
"We don't know much about Ivel Barbarians, so the game will be a bit of a step into the unknown for us, but we have a full squad available and we'll be looking for sixth successive win to keep our momentum going."
Trailing 20-3 at half-time, two interception tries got Oldfield - who ended up with three tries on the board, two from Joel Hawkins and one from Bath Academy youngster Freddie Burns - back into contention. Burns also clipped over a first-half penalty and two second-half conversions. |
