Welcome to Oldfield Old Boys RFC

The Oldfield Flyer Oldfield Old Boys Rugby Football Club was established in 1950 and fields 3 Senior teams each week, plus Vets and U19 sides. Our 1st XV play in Southern Counties South, Our 2nd XV in Somerset 2 North & 3rd XV in Somerset 3 North.

You can find us at Shaft Road, Combe Down, Bath and are welcome to join us for training, every Tuesday & Thursday (7pm to 9pm). We are a social and welcoming club, so if you are new to the area, or fancy playing rugby, at any level, then get in touch - we are always happy to welcome new players.

Good win for us at the weekend. PDF Print E-mail

Joel Hawkins slotted in at 10 with Boycey at 12 in place of missing Freddie Burns and Sean Lilley.

They were a good foil for the back three and we got in behind them on so many occasions that it could have been 70-80 points if we were more clinical in their 22.

Joel ended up with 3 tries, and Alex Woods was instrumental from 8 with some strong runs as he scored a brace. The ever impressive Matt 'the crazy giraffe' Clifton ran in a try from 50 yards and Jamie Harrop scored a try on his birthday, yet he sadly turned down the opportunity to join us on the Fun Bus on the way home... he decided to warm down by jogging back to Shaft from Yeovil!

Jack Burns made a welcome first outing for the first team this season when he came off the bench. He also bragged about his kicking at goal as he took over the kicking duties... but i'm sure Freddie has nothing to worry about just yet!

It shows just how much strength in depth we have as a squad and we hope the new year can bring us more of the same as we chase a top 3 spot. We've played all the top sides (apart from Trowbridge) away from home, so hopefully we can turn a few of the top 4 over in the New Year.

Let's make a big effort to support Staunts and Owen in January by making up the numbers on a Tuesday and Thursday night.

Final Score - Oldfield 60 - Ivel Barbarians 0
