The Shaft Road side travel to Green Lane for a head-on clash with Southern Counties South leaders Trowbridge,

who have lost just twice this season and are poised to take the divisional title with four matches to play.

Oldfield, who pushed their way into promotion contention after a slow start to the campaign still have an outside chance of finishing second.

But they must win this weekend to keep that hope alive after they went down to a 22-20 home defeat by second-placed Wootton Bassett last Saturday.

In a match featuring some superb rugby from two committed sides, it was all-square at half-time with the teams tied at 7-7 after an even 40 minutes. Matt Pearce grabbed a try for the home side with skipper Lee Sumsion converting.

But, after the break, Bassett had the edge and two tries, one converted, saw them open up what should have been a comfortable lead.

Oldfield however, refused to lie down and they fought back to finish two points adrift of the visitors after Jack Burns and Joel Hawkins ran in tries and Sumsion added another conversion and a penalty.

The outcome dropped Oldfield down to fourth place, five points adrift of this weekend's hosts Trowbridge, who have lost just twice so far this season.

Bassett's win at Shaft Road lifted them up to second place ahead of Frome, with both teams two points clear of Oldfield with four games to play.
