Oldfield slipped to a hefty 48-19 Southern Counties South defeat, despite trailing Tadley by just two points going into the final quarter.
Trailing 8-0 early on, Oldfield hit back with three Joel Hawkins penalties but they went into the half-time interval 12-9 down. Tries by replacement Ricardo Gibson and winger Jack Burns then kept them in touch throughout the second half until, the pressure built by a strong Tadley back row and the loss of three players to injuries, became the decisive factor. Oldfield host title favourites Wootton Bassett on Saturday. |
